Happy Birthday Walt!

Walter Elias Disney, the creator of Mickey Mouse and the beginning of all the magic we’ve all come to love today.

The D23 website states David Low, the late British political cartoonist, called Disney “the most significant figure in graphic arts since Leonardo.” I believe that is accurate. He began selling his sketches to neighbors at just 7 years old. Who would know his work would turn into the most well known and loved characters to people all around the world.

Walt was always thinking 5, 10, even 20 years ahead. He had plans that were beyond the imagination of others.

Walt was a pioneer in the world of animation.

  • The “birth” of Mickey Mouse in Steamboat Willie was the world’s first fully synchronized sound cartoon;
  • His Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was the first full length animated musical;
  • He was the first to introduce Technicolor® in 1932, Silly Symphonies;
  • Animatronics in 1962, Mary Poppins.

These are only a few of his amazing achievements!

Walt’s imagination was like no other, his dreams were beyond what any one person could ever imagine. His inspiration has lived on…

We keep moving forward, opening new doors, and doing new things, because we’re curious and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths. If you can dream it, you can do it. All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.
